ABOUT US
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd originally began in a small corner of an existing business workshop, remanufacturing, repairing, and servicing truck steering gears. Soon after, a purpose-built workshop was constructed, and Truck Steering Services not only expanded its remanufacturing, repair, and servicing of truck steering gears, but also branched heavily into specialised truck steering fault diagnostics, with specialised bench testing and crack testing facilities. This allowed the company to crack test steering gear components, reuse suitable parts, and cater for external customer crack testing requirements.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd stocks a massive inventory of remanufactured truck steering gears and offers an exchange service, with the ability to ship units anywhere. The company also carries a wide range of other steering components.
The new purpose-built facility also included a full drive-through truck and trailer wheel alignment pit, offering Josam laser truck and trailer wheel alignments, trailer camber corrections, I-beam truck steer axle corrections, and on-truck wheel balancing. However, Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd soon outgrew its second purpose-built location.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd now operates from its third purpose-built facility at 126–128 Whakakake Street, Tauriko. The site now consists of two large separate buildings. One building is dedicated to truck steering gear remanufacturing, repairs, servicing, crack testing, and the refacing of hard internal steering gear components in a much more advanced laboratory-style workshop area isolated from the rest of the operation. The facility also includes a full-length drive-through truck and trailer wheel alignment pit, trailer axle camber corrections, truck I-beam steer axle camber corrections, and fully computerised Josam truck and trailer alignment equipment, superseding the older laser system and providing greater accuracy with electronic wheel alignment printouts and on-truck wheel balancing.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd also offers a full-length drive-through truck and trailer chassis straightening machine, complete with Josam chassis straightening and measuring equipment. The company can straighten bent and twisted truck and trailer chassis, saving transport operators and insurance companies significant costs alike.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd also provides general heavy transport engineering services, from replacing tow eyes right through to replacing trailer bin sides and carrying out major structural heavy transport engineering work. We also stock a large range of parts to keep jobs moving and customers back on the road quickly.
Truck Steering Services has also become very well known in the heavy transport mechanical repair industry and is an approved Foton parts and service dealer. At the current purpose-built facility, the entire building on the right-hand side is dedicated to heavy transport mechanical repairs and is fitted with truck and trailer hoists, while both buildings are equipped with full gantry crane coverage.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd is the obvious choice in the Bay of Plenty for truck steering work, truck and trailer wheel alignment fault diagnostics, truck and trailer chassis straightening and measuring, heavy transport engineering, mechanical repairs, and parts supply — all within one purpose-built operation.
The company is still owned by the same brothers, Paul White and Scott White, founders and owners of White Bros in Hamilton, another highly respected truck repair facility. They are widely regarded as some of the most experienced and respected truck repairers in Australasia.
Truck Steering Services (2006) Ltd day-to-day operations are managed by Angus Macaulay.
